MAASTRICHT - Netherland

Like everyone else in the world, we too have a mother. And like many other mothers in the world, ours too have a passion for potted flowers. This means that one of the goals of the trip is to retrieve a suitable quantity of tulip bulbs for each parent. Obviously, we neglected this request for 17 days, and now that the time is running out, finding these flowers has become a priority...

We leave Dordrecht to reach Maastricht. Since for the zillionth time we forgot to buy the 100 tulip bulbs for the moms, we decided to take the road… Bad choice. It backfired. Eventually we arrived at the first ghost campsite. We said “first” because there was a second too. The campsites were marked on our green guide, but there was no sign of them in the city.

At 2.30pm, tired of the runaround, we parked and visited the city. Maastricht is very nice but seems dull.

Once we left this labyrinth-city, I (since Bruttone was sleeping) headed towards Harrem. There we found out that the campsite was actually closed until 7pm, so we ended up sitting at a table trying to decide where to go.

Result:
  • Tomatensoup: tomato soup
  • Soep vande dag: mushroom soup
  • Daeg schotel: breaded sole
  • Pennenkoeken appel en kaneel: apple pie
BRUTTONE’S NOTES:

I was tired and sleepy…

The place is full of youngsters. As a matter of fact, the grandpa sitting at the next table has emphysema. If I fart or burp too loud, I risk to kill half of the customers of a heart attack. It’s a wonder that the old dude at the table behind us hasn’t already died from a Viagra overdose, since he hasn’t taken his eyes off Pollo’s breasts.
